What happened in Benue after I fasted for seven days – Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom has stated that following the seven days fasting and prayers which ended yesterday, there were signs of divine intervention.

He spoke at an interdenominational church service to mark the end of a fasting and prayer at the chapel of grace.

The Governor listed plans of the military to commence a full operation to flush out the invaders, subsiding of attacks and the retreating of some of the attackers as the signs of divine intervention.

He noted that there had been relative calm in the state since the fasting and prayer commenced, stressing that it pays to pray to God.

While commending people for been steadfast during the siege, Governor Ortom said through the ranching law, Benue had sawn a seed that had germinated and bore fruits for all Nigerians.

In a remark, Tor Tiv the V, Professor James Ayatse said because Benue had prayed, the enemies would be defeated.

While noting that Benue was lucky to have Governor Ortom who trusts in the Lord, the paramount ruler said people of the state would not forget him for the sacrifices he had made before and during the invasion.

On his part, CAN chairman Benue state, Reverend Akpen Leva called for a judicial commission of inquiry into the destruction of Naka by the military and rebuilding of the town.

Preaching, Reverend John Ornguze identified love for one another as the only way to overcome the siege on Benue communities.
