What new PSG manager told Neymar amid Chelsea transfer rumours

Neymar was among the PSG stars to have been booed by the club fans last season.

PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi further cast doubt over Neymar’s future in the French capital following a series of interviews last month, where he directly and indirectly criticised the flamboyant Brazilian star.

“Dreams are one thing, reality is another,” Al-Khelaifi told Le Parisien.

“Perhaps we should change our slogan… dream bigger is good, but today we must be realistic, we don’t want flashy, bling-bling anymore, it’s the end of the glitter.”

When asked directly about Neymar’s future in an interview with Marca, Al-Khelaifi replied: “We can’t talk about it in the media, some will come and some will go, but these are private negotiations.

“We want young, talented, committed players with a winning mentality, people who want to die for this badge.

“We want to be stronger collectively, to play as a team and for the club to be above all.”

PSG have axed Mauricio Pochettino as their manager, and he has been replaced by Christophe Galtier.

Galtier was announced as new PSG boss on Tuesday, and he has confirmed that he wants Neymar to stay at the club this summer.

“He’s one of the best in the world,” Galtier said at his first press conference.

“What coach wouldn’t want to have him? I’ve a very clear idea of what I’ll expect from him.

“Of course I want him to stay.”

PSG are willing to sell Neymar to Chelsea for a reduced fee, but it’s yet to be seen if Chelsea would be interested in the Brazilian who earns a stunning £600k per week wages.
