Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has expressed confidence in Cristiano Ronaldo’s ability to score goals and play a crucial role for Portugal in the upcoming Euro 2024 in Germany.
Ronaldo is preparing for his 11th major tournament, having first represented Portugal at Euro 2004.
The 39-year-old forward recently wrapped up an impressive season in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr, netting 50 goals in 51 matches.
Despite his remarkable form, Ronaldo faces tough competition for a starting spot in Portugal’s lineup from Liverpool’s Diogo Jota, PSG’s Goncalo Ramos, and Joao Felix, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona.
Discussing the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star, Mourinho told RTP, “Cristiano knows how he feels, what his goals are, and how the coach wants to utilize him, whether that means playing every minute of every game or being preserved for key moments.
“But there is a lot happening internally that influences decisions. He has a significant impact and will score his goals.
“I don’t believe he will leave the European Championship without scoring.”
