Her name has reverberated across social media platforms, sparking debates, conspiracies, and curiosity. From the pulpit to Telegram channels, Roselande Belony’s identity has become as controversial as the now-infamous leaked videos linked to her.
Some insist she is the daughter of a senior Ivorian pastor; others claim she hails from Kenya or Tanzania. But contrary to these viral claims, the woman at the heart of this internet storm is none of these.
Roselande Belony is, in fact, a Haitian media personality, singer, and former radio host known for her work on Radio Télé Pacific, where she presented educational programs. A woman of strong stage presence and a background in music, Roselande is also active in her local church, often serving as a worship leader and occasionally preaching. However, she is not the daughter of a pastor, as falsely claimed across social media.
In the wake of the scandal, her father, Serge Belony, stepped forward to set the record straight. In an exclusive interview with Blocus on Storm TV, he dismissed the viral narrative that painted his daughter as a pastor’s child. “I am not a pastor. I’m a driver and mechanic, and I haven’t stepped inside a church in over ten years,” he said.
He also debunked another rumor that Roselande had refused intimacy to a jilted fiancé who then leaked the videos in revenge. According to Serge Belony, the man in the videos was Roselande’s official boyfriend. Their relationship, he said, was known to family members and the church, but ended about eight months ago due to pressure from the church over the young man’s appearance and lifestyle.
“The church didn’t approve of his braided hair, pierced ears, and what they considered a non-conformist lifestyle,” Belony explained. “They asked her to end the relationship, and she did.”
The shocking revelation, however, was that the videos were not leaked by the ex-boyfriend but by an unknown individual who robbed Roselande. According to her father, she was returning from a hospital visit when she was attacked by a fake motorcycle taxi rider at gunpoint. The robber stole her phone, disabled its security settings, and later leaked the videos online—possibly after an unsuccessful ransom attempt.
The fallout was swift and severe. The videos, shared widely across platforms like Telegram and Twitter, led to Roselande’s forced resignation from Radio Télé Pacific. The scandal has triggered intense reactions in countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Public opinion remains deeply divided. While some criticize her actions, others have voiced support and compassion. One user wrote, “The story makes me confused and angry… This is a terrible invasion of privacy.” Another commented, “She may have made a mistake, but what’s happening now is cyberbullying.”
Despite the chaos, Roselande has chosen to face the storm with dignity. She has been sharing words of encouragement on her social media pages and expressing gratitude to those who have stood by her.
Still, she lives with the painful reality that her most intimate moments have been broadcast to the world. And while she moves on, the internet never forgets — not the moans, not the styles, not the story.
