Who killed Gana?

The news of his death came to me with mixed feelings. He came out to surrender himself and shouldn’t have been killed in that “shootout” according to the Army.

I think the Governor of Benue state over estimated the amnesty he offered, he should have secured federal amnesty. It has now been proven that state amnesty is inferior to federal amnesty.

He came out, out of trust. To me trust has been betrayed. The way Nigeria is going, ethno militias are fast becoming chief security officers along tribal boundaries and Gana was fast fitting into that “Amotekun General” of his people… the need to cut him off.

Like BH amnesty in the north or militants in the south, I strongly believe that Gana and his boys should have been given a chance since we are in a era of “Amnesty Jamboree”. Too bad that Gana could not pass the interview to be admitted into “Nigeria’s Institute of Amnesty”.

Gana had rich criminal records no need to pretend about it. Rich like that of those ex BH and ex militants who are roaming our streets with amnesty pass tags.

I don’t blame the Military especially the Nigerian Army for what they did. They only acted on orders. They was a time if you google it, you would see it; “Gana is wanted death or alive, if possible dead”… Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Buratai.

The soldiers only carried out an order… if his killing is extrajudicial or not, don’t quarrel those who carried out the act, but those who gave the order long time ago.

He who lives by the sword, shall die by the sword. I think his time was up. But how we “up it” would remain a strong moral burden in the hearts of many Nigerians for a long time.

May God heal Nigeria.
