Why Bobrisky was arrested at Seme border – NIS

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border while attempting to leave the country.

IDOMA VOICE reports that the arrest was confirmed in a statement released by DCI KT Udo, the Service Public Relations Officer, on Monday.

The NIS stated that Bobrisky is a person of interest due to recent matters of public concern.

The official statement read: “As part of its ongoing efforts to secure Nigeria’s borders, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border during an attempted exit from the country.

“We wish to inform the public that Okuneye Idris is under investigation due to issues of public concern and is currently undergoing interrogation. He will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action. The Service remains committed to maintaining professionalism in its duties of border control.”

IDOMA VOICE reported that Bobrisky was detained at the border on Monday, October 21, during passport checks. Sources from the NIS told Premium Times that he was arrested around midnight, held overnight, and later transferred to the NIS Lagos office in Ikeja for further processing.
