Why I accepted to be Tinubu’s running mate – Shettima

Shettima reveals what he was doing when Tinubu announced him as his running mate

Kashim Shettima has revealed why he accepted to be the running mate to the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu.

IDOMA VOICE recalls that Tinubu unveiled Shettima as his deputy on Sunday amid nationwide outcry against same faith ticket.

Speaking for the first time since his announcement, Shettima said he least expected the news when he was named the VP candidate.

He said, “Thank you for the trust Sir Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Prior to the official announcement of my nomination as the running mate to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“My intention was to visit 2 orphanages in Maiduguri (the Abdulateef Zabadne Orphanage Foundation and the Future Assured College) to celebrate with the orphans in the spirit of the Sallah festival.

“In fact, the announcement came in while I was mingling and trying to put a smile on the faces of the kids who mostly became orphans as a result of Boko Haram insurgency,” he added.
