Chinedu Ikedieze, popular Nollywood actor, also known as Aki, has shared his poignant journey of overcoming challenges associated with stunted growth during his childhood.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Aki revealed the heart-wrenching experiences he faced due to his condition and how he persevered through the darkest moments of his life.
Aki recalled a moment when he was just nine years and six months old, forever etched in his memory. The doctor’s somber declaration of “stunted growth” cast a shadow over his young life, a revelation that would shape his formative years.
Bullied by peers and besieged by a sense of alienation, Aki’s struggles were compounded by the whispers of “stunted” and “retarded” growth.
Reflecting on his resilience, Aki shared, “I cried several times because I was bullied in school and even at home because I wasn’t growing properly. It got bad, there were times I thought of ending it all. Thank God I no grow for Lagos because Third Mainland Bridge no far o [laughs].”
