Why I conferred Ookelagwo K’Idoma title on Barrister Boniface Apochi – Och’Idoma

The paramount ruler of Idoma land, His Royal Highness Agabaidu Elaigwu Odogbo, Och’Idoma V, has lauded ace philanthropist and financial expert, Barrister Boniface Agada Apochi, describing him as a proud son of Idoma land.

IDOMA VOICE reports that the monarch made this declaration at his palace while conferring the prestigious chieftaincy title of Ookelagwo K’Idoma on Barrister Apochi.

The title, which translates to “The Problem Solver of Idoma Land,” was bestowed in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the development of the Idoma community.

According to the Och’Idoma, Barrister Apochi has used his office and resources to significantly impact both his immediate community in Owukpa and the Idoma people at large.

Highlighting his achievements, the monarch noted that Apochi has facilitated the employment of over 100 university graduates of Benue State origin in the organized private sector.

Apochi’s philanthropic initiatives also include establishing and maintaining the Apochi Memorial Hospital, a 40-bed modern medical facility in Ukwo Owukpa, which has been instrumental in improving healthcare access in the region.

Additionally, he played a pivotal role in the electrification of Udaburu, the grading of 19 kilometers of roads in Owukpa, and extending the Ashat road from Ukwo through Ekere to Ugbugbu Owukpa.

In his response, Barrister Apochi expressed gratitude to the Idoma Traditional Area Council for the honor.
He pledged to continue prioritizing the well-being of his people and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Idoma community.

Barrister Apochi hails from Udaburu Owukpa. His father, the late Chief Emmanuel Apochi was a beaded traditional ruler and the On’agene of Ai-Amuche.
His grandfather, Ochube Abah, populalrly known as Ochube Ooba was the first beaded On’agene of Ai-Amuche during the colonial era.
