ThankGod Omori Jesam, widely known as TG Omori, a prominent Nigerian music video director, has shared his perspective on the legitimacy of democracy in Africa and his decision not to vote in the 2023 Nigerian elections. Speaking on the Zero Conditions podcast, the 28-year-old director highlighted his skepticism about the democratic process and its effectiveness in the continent.

TG Omori expressed his belief that democracy in Africa can be compromised due to the influence of power-hungry individuals who exploit the poverty prevalent in the region to manipulate the electoral system. He suggested that the prevalence of hunger as a tool in African societies makes it easier for wealthy individuals to buy votes, thereby undermining the democratic process.

In contrast to the democratic model, TG Omori mentioned his preference for a monarchical system of government, suggesting that it may be better suited to African societies. He emphasized his belief that democracy, particularly in Africa, can be undermined by the ability of the super-rich to use their wealth to manipulate the political landscape.
