France and Juventus of Italy midfielder, Paul Pogba, has finally admitted to hiring a native doctor, saying the reason was to help prevent injuries plaguing his career and not to harm anybody.
Pogba added that he paid the witch doctor some money to help prevent him from sustaining career-threatening injuries.
Pogba denies it had anything to do with international team-mate, Kylian Mbappé and says he “never intended to harm anyone”.
The player, who moved to Juventus this summer, explained to investigators working for France’s Central Office for the Fight against Organised Crime (OCLCO) that he was “looking to be protected against injury” and “also to help poor kids in Africa” he was in connection with through an aid organisation.
Five suspects including Mathias, have been charged with trying to blackmail Pogba out of more than £ 11 million.
He is not part of the current France squad and is at real risk of failing to make the World Cup later this year.
