A former military governor of Kaduna and Katsina States, Gen. Lawrence Onoja, rtd. has explained why he folded his umbrella for the broom.
Onoja, who contested for the Benue South Senatorial District in 2011 on the platform of the now rested Action Congress of Nigeria said he had not choice than than follow the wind of change, espcially now that Buhari, his former senior officer would now mount the number one seatcome May 29.
The retired soldier stated this while speaking at Jesus College Otukpoe where he led thousnads of other PDP members into the change train.
Speaking at the event, General Onoja who supported President Jonathan’s second term bid explained that the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari was his senior at a military institution in the United Kingdom and that having also served as a Military Administrator of Katsina State, military tradition requires that he joins the new President.
It would be recalled that Onoja was one of the northern elder statesmen who worked tirelessly for the failed second term bid of president Goodluck Jonathan.
