Why I left Moses Bliss’ Spotlight Nation after 11 months – Ebuka Songs

Nigerian gospel musician Ebuka Songs has revealed that he left Moses Bliss’ record label, Spotlight Nation, after feeling led by God to pursue an independent path and explore new opportunities.
Despite his departure just eleven months into a three-year contract, Ebuka Songs stressed that there is no fallout or disaffection between him and Moses Bliss.
In an interview with Amanda Dara on The OpenUp Podcast, he explained that his decision to leave was entirely inspired by divine guidance rather than any internal conflict. He emphasized that he remains on good terms with Moses Bliss, whose mentorship had been invaluable—teaching him about copyrights and royalties, areas he had little knowledge of before joining the label.
Addressing rumors that he might have spoken negatively about Spotlight Nation after his exit, Ebuka Songs debunked such claims. He recalled meeting Minister Moses Bliss in Abuja before signing with the label and expressed gratitude for the professional guidance he received.
“I met Minister Moses Bliss in Abuja before I was signed to the label. I had the anointing and gift but didn’t know anything about royalties, copyright, and all. He guided me through the professional space, and I’m grateful for the role he played in my life. I left after eleven months after I was urged by God to do ministry on my own,” he said.
Reflecting on his personal journey, Ebuka Songs also spoke about overcoming hardships in his upbringing and thanked God for using him to transform his family’s narrative.
Similarly, Moses Bliss confirmed that there are no hard feelings between the two. “There are no issues between me and Ebuka Songs. He was signed to Spotlight Nation but later said he wants to do things on his own. I prayed about it and decided to let him be. I hold no grudge against him,” Bliss stated.
