Prominent Nigerian singer, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, known as Oxlade, has shared the reason behind his decision to abandon his university degree program during his final year.
The “Ku Lo Sa” artist explained that he was a student at Lagos State University (LASU) but left in his final year due to threats from cultists who were determined to recruit him into their group.
According to Oxlade, he resisted their pressure to join their gang and ultimately had to flee the campus for his safety.
He disclosed these details during a recent episode of the “Tea With Tay” podcast, hosted by actor Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, also known as Taymesan.
Oxlade recounted, “During my university days, I was always in the church, reading the Bible and books. Then I dropped out in my final year. I’ve never said this before. I dropped out when some boys were trying to make me join their gang. One day, my grandma called me, asking where I was. I told her I was on campus, and she said I should start coming to our family home in Ibadan.”
“I went to Ibadan, and that day, those cultists almost killed my roommates. That’s why I appreciate my grandma’s importance in my life. Truly, there’s a God. And I’m saying this with my full chest, God has saved me countless times,” Oxlade added.
