‘Why I refused to buy private jet’ – Don Jazzy
Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy has revealed why he chooses not to buy a private jet, despite having the financial capacity to do so.
In an interview with Habby FX, the Mavin Records founder explained that he prefers to invest his money in ventures that offer long-term value rather than indulge in luxury items.
“Nothing beats investment,” Don Jazzy said. “I have been blessed enough for a long time to afford any car or even a private jet. But I have more important things to take care of because nothing beats investment.”
He also encouraged young people to focus on skill acquisition, especially in the era of the internet and AI, where traditional professions like engineering, medicine, and law may face disruptions.
“Why not learn something tangible like carpentry or furniture making?” he asked. “We still import chairs and tables from China and Turkey. We could produce those things ourselves if we had skilled people here.”
Don Jazzy added that his current focus on learning forex trading is an investment in himself, turning it into a skill that will pay off in the future. “Don’t just be useless. Go and acquire some skill,” he advised.
