Singer, Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, known as Khaid, has disclosed the reasons behind his conversion from Islam to Christianity.
The 19-year-old artist, who was born to a Muslim father and a Christian mother, shared that he attended the mosque during his upbringing. However, he expressed that he made the transition to Christianity because he didn’t enjoy going to the mosque and felt a stronger connection to Christianity.
Khaid revealed these details during a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast. He explained, “I was a Muslim before because my dad was a Muslim and my mum was a Christian. So, I just felt the connection to Christianity more.”
He further elaborated on his experience, mentioning that his dad initially compelled him to attend the mosque, but his parents were open-minded and allowed their children to choose their faith. Khaid added that while he initially went to the mosque to please his father, he later switched to attending church, where he felt more at ease.
Khaid’s family includes both Muslims and Christians among his siblings, with his elder sister and younger brother following Islam, while he and the rest of his siblings practice Christianity.
