Super Eagles eligible forward, Kevin Schade has stated the reason he will choose to play for Germany over Nigeria, OJBSPORTS reports.
Born to a Nigerian father and a German mother, the 20-year-old is eligible to play for both Germany and Nigeria at senior level.
The 20-year-old forward has been spectacular for SC Freiburg since he made his debut in 2021 and was a second half substitute goal scorer in last night 0-4 demolition of Moses Simon’s Nantes away from home.
Kevin played the last 25 minutes of the game in a comfortable victory and was interviewed by Ojora Babatunde of OJBSPORTS at the post match conference.
The young forward had already featured for Germany in the U19, U20 and U21 tournaments and when asked by OJBSPORTS if he has been contacted by the Nigerian Football Federation on playing for the Super Eagles, he said “No”.
When asked whether he will be willing to play for the Super Eagles if they come knocking, the young forward told OJBSPORTS that “I was growing up in Germany, it’s difficult,
“So, I played every time for Germany, So I can play for Germany [at the senior level].
“I want to play for Germany.”
The young forward has already scored four goals since making his debut for SC Freiburg despite playing limited number of minutes.
