Why I’m not supporting Tinubu – Dele Momodu
Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation magazine, has shed light on his decision to reverse his initial inclination to support the All Progressives Congress (APC). The former presidential aspirant and prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been engaged in a social media dispute with APC supporters due to his reluctance to endorse Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.
In a recent post on a platform known as X, Momodu criticized APC supporters, accusing them of an excessive fixation on an interview in which he mentioned that Tinubu had given him 500 pounds in London during his years in exile.
He made it clear that the gift was never intended to bind him in servitude, emphasizing that he had repaid it many times over.
Momodu stated, “I will support a government that appears very reasonable and sympathetic to the citizens of Nigeria. I could have supported APC in 2015 but recognized the negative signs early on that Buhari was leading us toward a difficult situation. It’s been less than six months, and already, APC appears to have lost its way.”
