Why I’m ready to risk everything for Tinubu – Seyi Law
Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has reaffirmed his strong backing for President Bola Tinubu, praising his leadership and economic policies.
Speaking at the 2026 APC National Convention in Abuja, the entertainer declared that he is fully committed to the president, describing him as a leader who rescued Nigeria from the verge of economic collapse.
He said if given the opportunity to introduce Tinubu, he would present him as someone he is willing to risk everything for, citing improvements in the country’s foreign reserves from about $1 billion previously to roughly $40 billion in net reserves and $50.7 billion in gross reserves.
Seyi Law also defended major policy decisions by the administration, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the foreign exchange market.
According to him, these steps were necessary in tackling corruption and stabilising the economy.
He added that the government’s approach to corruption is systematic, noting that ending the subsidy regime on the president’s first day in office was a decisive move.
On the forex policy, the comedian stated that floating the naira helped harmonise both the official and black market exchange rates.
Addressing the education sector, he commended the administration for reducing strike actions in universities and improving student welfare.
He noted that academic programmes are now more stable, with minimal disruptions, and highlighted the student loan scheme, which he said has already benefited nearly one million students, alongside a ₦20,000 monthly stipend.
