Why Och’Idoma did not welcome Buhari in Makurdi

Fresh facts have emerged on why the traditional ruler of Idoma land, HRM, Elias Obekpa (Ochi’Idoma of Idomaland) did not go to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari in Makurdi on Monday.
Buhari was in Benue on Monday on a condolence visit.

The event had Benue who is who in attendance, including the Tor Tiv HRM, Prof James Ayatse, who doubles as Chairman, Benue Traditional Area Council.
Sources said the Och’Idoma, who is the Vice Chairman of the BATC was invited but chose to send a delegate.
His reason, a source said, “The Och’Idoma is still mourning his children, who were recently murdered in Okpokwu. The president is truly on a condolence visit, he was supposed to visit his palace in Otukpo.”
