Organisers of Benue Celebrity Awards have defended why they gave plaques designed in form of a naked woman to awardees at the just concluded award ceremony in Benue State.
The group was apparently reacting to to the slue of criticisms, which greeted the controversial plaque given out to winners at the event.

Many Benue natives have strongly condemned the choice of the ‘naked woman’ as it does not represent the true image of the Benue woman.
Reacting however, Nyikwagh Bat Hills Hilary, a Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment and the brain behind the award, said the naked plaque with dangling milk factories represents the beauty of the Benue woman.
He warned critics to mind their business and stop attacking the group.
His statement reads in full.
The common symbol of Justice all over the world is the beautiful shape of a blindfolded woman with the best of shape and curves, created by God, globally accepted by all nations of the world, including Nigeria..
Even the shape of the AMAA award plaque is the shape of a beautiful woman accepted by all nations of the world, to mention a few.
Let us now, for the purpose of looking down on the female gender consider the shape of the Oscar award plaque which is the shape of a natural man in his beauty created by God.
Why would the beautiful shape of the award plaque of the maiden edition of the BENUE CELEBRITY AWARD, BCA, which is the shape of the true beautiful Benue woman, a Benue mother, in her natural beauty of a Tiv/Idoma/Igede/Etulo woman be an issue?
An average Benue woman, the mother of Benue is seen as a beautiful woman, much more prettier than the BCA plaque. The shape of the BCA plaque which is the true natural beauty of a Benue woman ought to be accorded high regard as it is the case in reality.
It is rather amazing that in the name of politics, our brothers who have extraordinary beautiful mothers, sisters and pretty wives whom they adore will turn around and condemn the choice of the plaque for the 2016 maiden edition of the BCA organised to honour Benue sons & daughters of the state, dead & alive, home and abroad.
Why would any one think the Benue Woman does not deserve to be represented on an award plaque, honouring her great sons and daughters? Is it that they are against womanhood or that they simply want to be mischievous?
It must be stressed that the choice of the award plaque was not based on those mundane or profane considerations being insinuated by opposition elements. The plaque is a simple work of art designed for the celebration of excellence as it is done both at the national and international levels.
We advise the Benue opposition to get busy for once and desist from armchair and baseless criticism of the Governor Samuel Ortom administration as they currently do.
