The Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has called for the speedy passage of the bill for an act for the establishment of Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State.
He made this comment when the bill, which was presented by Senator Abba Moro, Benue South was brought up for second reading.
Speaking after his colleagues had contributed to the bill, Senator Lawan said the bill must go through speedy passage as a reward to the first sponsor, David Mark.
He said relevant committees must put head together to work for the speedy passage of the bill since the president had already approved the institution.
“When this Bill was brought before the 8th Senate, I made my comment then as Senate Leader and I say the then sponsor of the Bill, Senator David Mark who presided over the 6th and 7th Senate not only brought a very important Bill but also served this National Assembly and country meritoriously. If there is anything we can do to show appreciation of service is to not waste time in passing the Bill. This is one Bill that deserves all our support.”- Senate President, Ahmad Lawan PhD, CON.
