Senator Abba Moro, today, in Otukpo restated his commitment to the agitation for Benue governor of Zone C extraction. Zone C, comprising of Nine local government areas, has been agitating, through the Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM), for the governorship seat in 2023. BRM, an apolitical group, is formed with the sole aim of negotiation the governorship seat to the Zone.
Delivering his speech at the 1st Benue South Stakeholders Meeting organized by the group in Otukpo, Senator Moro said there was no better time for Zone C to produce the governor of the state than 2023, he appealed to the good people of Zones A and B to give Zone C the opportunity to contribute its own quota to the development of the state.
The Senator, who was the Special Guest of Honour, said Zone C had competent and capable hands to run the affairs of the state satisfactorily. He expressed confident that a Zone C person would perform excellently well.
Senator Moro promised the Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM) of his continued support, to ensure the realization of their collective dream of Benue governor of Zone C extraction come 2023.
In his concluding statement, the Comrade-Senator said any party that gave its ticket to Zone C would be the party of the people of the Zone. He, however, cautioned the people of the Zone against statements that could frustrate the agitation, stating that the agitation must be anchored only on persuasion and an appeal to the conscience of the people of the other zones.
