Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has declared that power comes from God, contrary to claims by former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, that he made Siminalayi Fubara the governor of the state.
Otti made this statement on Tuesday while inaugurating a project executed by Governor Fubara in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Otti emphasized that power belongs to God, and no human can arrogate the capacity to give power, except they have the capacity to give life.
He expressed confidence that despite the political crisis in Rivers State, the people will still receive the dividends of democracy, as Governor Fubara came prepared to improve their welfare and interests.
The Abia governor assured the people of Rivers State that what they are seeing now is just a “dress rehearsal,” and they will see more in the near future.
Meanwhile, Governor Fubara has vowed to probe the immediate past administration and has expressed concerns over the debt burden he inherited from his predecessor, Wike.
He lamented that contractors who handled projects commissioned by Wike are still demanding balance payments running into millions and billions.
