Wind of change: Another shocker for governor Suswam

While Benue State governor Gabriel Suswam is yet to recover from the shock following the defection of over 7,000 of his kinsmen to the All Progressives Congress, his lawyer, Tony Ijohor (SAN) has follow the wind of change.

Until now, Ijohor was an active member of the ruling
PDP. He has been Suswam’s lawyer and had won several cases for the governor
including the certificate forgery suit that was filed by Prof. Steven Ugbah, against the governor.

However, a statement signed by Ijojor, said his decision was arrived at after a careful

reflection and consultation with his family. According to him, “I have formally resigned from partisan politics.

From now, my contributions will be based on the hallowed views of a statesman and my conduct as a scholar and lawyer will be applied to all without partisanship but rather on egalitarian vista based on my local, state, national and international proportion.”

He further added that “I also want to re-energize and dedicate my time and talent to
legal advocacy that is not constrained by the limitations of political partisanship but fully discharged to social expectations of legal advocacy which must be applicable to all levels of social equity and justice.
