Chief Munir Balogun, father of Afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has spoken on the ongoing rivalry between his son and fellow artist Davido.
In an interview with Punch Newspapers, Chief Balogun revealed that he has advised Wizkid to ignore the provocations from Davido’s fan base, encouraging him to stay focused and avoid distractions.
“I told my son not to pay attention to what Davido’s supporters are saying.
They’re just looking for attention and a way to benefit from it,” he explained, urging Wizkid to rise above the noise and maintain focus on his career.
The elder Balogun acknowledged the rivalry, noting that much of it plays out online. The tensions between Wizkid and Davido have long been a topic of debate among fans, as both artists remain two of the biggest figures in the Nigerian music industry.
