Woman collapses, dies after her three children were crushed to death by Dangote truck in Ondo

A Nigerian woman reportedly collapsed and died upon hearing the news of the death of her three children, all undergraduates of the Adekunle Ajasin University, who are among eight persons crushed to death by a truck in Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, on Saturday.

Three of the siblings who died were said to be final year students of the university.

IDOMA VOICE reports that no fewer than eight persons including AAUA students were feared crushed to dead by an articulated truck on Saturday.

The truck loaded with cement lost control due to brake failure and rammed into business centres and shops near the university gate at about 6 pm.

No fewer than 15 others sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The truck was said to be coming from Obajana in Kogi state and, while descending the hill few metres to the university gate, rammed into the business centres, shops and buildings along the roadside.

It was gathered that a pregnant woman and a former Student Union President of the university, Adesomoju Samuel Tobi popularly known as “Sampraise”, also died in the accident.
