A woman, Hope Nwala has reportedly poured scalding groundnut oil on her husband, Ekelediri Nwankwo Nwala, while he was asleep in Okehi community of the Etche Local Government Area in Rivers State,. The act was a result of a domestic dispute between the couple.
Mr. Nwankwo, who is currently fighting for his life, revealed that the argument that led to this horrific act began over his decision to send his wife’s younger sister away from their home. He expressed his concerns about her disrespectful behavior and indecent dress, prompting his choice to ask her to leave.
His wife disagreed with this decision and, according to Mr. Nwankwo, attacked him with hot oil while he was asleep. He explained, “I had told my wife’s younger sister to leave my house because of the way she has started dressing, and the way she occupies my matrimonial bed even when I am around. No young guy will tolerate such behavior, but my wife has refused the younger sister to leave the house.”
Additionally, Mr. Nwankwo noted that he had observed his wife in the company of a tall man who was following her around the shop he had rented for her. This raised suspicions about her actions.
Despite these concerning circumstances, the wife’s response was extreme and violent, as she poured hot groundnut oil on her husband and even used a hammer on him.
