World Cup Qualifiers: 21 Super Eagles Players Arrive Ahead of Rwanda, Zimbabwe Clashes

The Super Eagles camp is rapidly filling up as Nigeria ramps up preparations for their pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
As of Tuesday morning, 21 players had arrived in camp, with only Alhassan Yusuf yet to report.
The first group of arrivals — Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Daniel Mustapha, Kayode Bankole, Amas Obasogie, and Tolu Arokodare — checked in early and took part in a light gym session on Monday evening. Later that night, more key players joined, including Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, Jordan Torunarigha, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Igoh Ogbu.
By Tuesday morning, team captain William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Joseph Aribo, Ola Aina, and Sadiq Umar had also arrived, leaving just one player expected to complete the squad ahead of the first full training session scheduled for Tuesday evening.
The Super Eagles are under immense pressure heading into these crucial fixtures. Winless in their last four outings and currently fifth in Group C with just three points, Nigeria faces the real possibility of missing a second consecutive World Cup.
Head coach Eric Chelle is under intense scrutiny to reverse the team’s fortunes. Nigeria will face group leaders Rwanda in Kigali on March 21, before returning home to host Zimbabwe in Uyo on March 25.
With the stakes higher than ever, the squad will look to regroup quickly and focus on securing maximum points in both encounters to revive their World Cup hopes.
