Yemi Alade slams Cool FM, Clout Africa over blacklisting, refusal to forgive

Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has criticized prominent media outlets Cool FM and Clout Africa, accusing them of blacklisting her music and refusing to forgive her over a past disagreement.

In a post shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account, the Grammy-nominated artist alleged that both organizations removed her music catalog from their platforms after she missed an event they organized. She claimed to have apologized and reached out to their executives, but they allegedly ignored her efforts to resolve the issue.

Yemi Alade expressed frustration, stating, “Take down my whole catalog from your stations, @CoolFMNigeria and @cloutafrica. God will still provide for me. You’ve been holding a grudge for a full year because I didn’t attend your event. I apologized and even reached out to your boss, but he ignored my messages.”

She further explained that her team had met with influential figures worldwide and always resolved issues professionally. However, the media organizations allegedly continued their embargo on her music over the unpaid event.

“My God will fight for me, and I will hold my peace. Since December 2023, I personally reached out in January, yet you refuse to play my songs and make things difficult for my team. You’re not gatekeepers, and you’re not God. My God will frustrate you all,” she added, specifically calling out Cool FM’s Serge Noujaim and Clout Africa’s Joseph Adamu.

The ‘Tomorrow’ singer criticized the lack of communication and professionalism, concluding by asking them to remove her entire catalog if they couldn’t resolve the matter amicably.
