You have a kangaroo committee – Tsav bombs Benue governor, Ortom

Former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has attributed Governor Samuel Ortom’s nullification of  all last minute actions taken by the immediate past administration in Benue State to overexcitement of occupying the office of governor.

Tsav said in Makurdi at the weekend that he was dissatisfied with the new state government for terminating all last minute recruitments into the state civil service by former governor Gabriel Suswam as well as directing the immediate reinstatement of Ter Nagi, Chief Daniel Abomtse.

The traditional head was deposed by Suswam during his last days in office while over 4,000 fresh appointments were also said to have been done into the civil service just before the expiration of the immediate past government.

But Tsav has questioned the governor’s sincerity of purpose for coming into office and sacking many people in just less than two weeks after taking over the mantle of leadership.

“I’m not in any way satisfied by what is happening in Benue State right now. As soon as Ortom came into office, he sacked workers who were just newly and genuinely employed. Buhari has not sacked anybody, he is not excited that he is president because he is there to serve.

“He (Ortom) set up a kangaroo committee and within three days of sitting, reinstated a traditional ruler  who was properly removed by the previous government. Suswam didn’t do so when he took over from Senator George Akume in 2007 because government is continuity. I think the new governor is just overexcited about the office,” he said.
