10 things you need to know about the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo

1. The university is the first federal institution in Idoma land

2. The bill for the establishment of the institution was sponsored by David Mark

3. It would be situated in Akwete-Akpa, few minutes from Otukpo town.

4. Once it becomes effective, no one will have to fly to India or any country on medical ground if we have all the needed state-of-the-art facility on ground in our country.

5. Once this university takes off, we could even export our medical practitioners, which would boost our economy.

6. The University has Idoma native as its pioneer Vice-Chancellor (Prof Innocent Ujah).

7. It would offer employment opportunities for Idoma sons and daughters.

8. Federal University of Health Sciences is a contemporary university that was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan in May 2015 to offer certified health science courses.

9. It would scale up the specialized training of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other professionals in the health sector; and to address persisting admission deficit.
