14 suspected rustlers, drug dealers arrested in Jigawa
The Jigawa State Police Command has reported the arrest of 14 individuals believed to be involved in activities such as animal rustling, drug dealing, and vandalism.
In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adam, it was confirmed that these arrests were made during various raids carried out across different local governments in the state.
These law enforcement operations are part of the ongoing efforts by the police to rid the state of criminals who have disrupted the peaceful environment.
According to DSP. Shiisu, on October 1, 2023, a patrol team from the Jahun Police station apprehended four individuals with animals that were strongly suspected to be stolen along the Gujungu road.
Additionally, on October 4, 2023, officers from the M/Qatari Police station conducted a raid at the Yankanwa black spot in Maigatari LGA, resulting in the arrest of four suspects found in possession of 53 tablets of Exol and two wraps of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Other arrests involved individuals engaged in cable theft and motorcycle theft in the Dutse and Gumel local governments, respectively.
DSP. Shiisu noted that the arrested suspects confessed to their alleged crimes and have been taken to court for prosecution.
The police spokesman encouraged residents to collaborate with security agencies by providing valuable information that can aid in the apprehension of criminals within the state.
