18-year-old boy uses ‘magic’ to impregnate 10 girls in Anambra

An 18-year-old young man in Anambra State has been accused of impregnating at least 10 girls, prompting an appeal for help from the state’s Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo.

In a social media video shared by the commissioner, Obinabo revealed that the case was brought to her attention on Tuesday. Two of the girls who became pregnant are the daughter and salesgirl of the boy’s former boss, while the remaining eight were impregnated after he returned to his village, two months following his dismissal from the apprenticeship.

Obinabo explained that the teenager was initially sent to learn a trade, but within three months, he had impregnated both his boss’s daughter and the salesgirl. After being sent away by his employer, he reportedly fathered eight more children in his village in just two months.

In a live video seeking advice from the public, Obinabo shared her distress, saying: “I want advice from the public because this situation is beyond my capacity. The boy was sent to learn a trade at 18, and three months into his apprenticeship, he impregnated his boss’s daughter and salesgirl, leading to his dismissal. Two months after that, he impregnated eight others in his village.”

Obinabo continued: “The mother of the boy reported the issue to my office, expressing that every time she sees a girl approaching her house, her heart skips a beat, and she’s seeking help.”

She also revealed that she had questioned the young man about his actions, to which he reportedly responded, saying he told the girls he loved them and promised to marry them once he acquired wealth.

The commissioner, however, did not disclose the boy’s village or the mother’s identity, explaining that the case had become too overwhelming for her to handle alone.

“This problem is beyond me, given the boy’s age and the number of pregnant girls involved. That’s why I’m asking for help to solve it,” Obinabo lamented.
