400 Female Students Empowered for Gender Equity in Leadership and Development

In collaboration with Union Bank, Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) has successfully empowered 400 senior secondary school girls from 16 institutions through the 22nd edition of the Leadership, Empowerment, Achievement, and Development (LEAD) Camp.

Conducted over three days, this program aimed to inspire and equip young girls with essential leadership, entrepreneurial, and career development skills. The camp spanned 12 states across Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Foluso Gbadamosi, the Executive Director of JAN, highlighted the transformative impact of the 2023 LEAD Camp, emphasizing that leadership has no gender boundaries. Gbadamosi expressed a commitment to breaking down the barriers that have hindered girls’ progress and shaping them into future change-makers for Nigeria and the world.

Acknowledging the enduring support from Union Bank, Gbadamosi expressed gratitude for the partnership that has brought the LEAD Camp vision to life.

Olufunmilola Aluko, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer of Union Bank, also lauded the longstanding partnership with JAN on the LEAD Camp initiative. Aluko stressed that over the nine years of collaboration, thousands of girls have been positively impacted. Through LEAD Camp, Union Bank continues to empower young women, equipping them to excel as accomplished leaders prepared for the evolving landscape of work and entrepreneurship.
