Osimhen, Lookman involved in all goals as Napoli beat Atalanta

Osimhen concedes penalty, scores equalizer, assist winner for Napoli while Lookman scores penalty in a dramatic match between the 1st and 2nd in the Seria A.

Osimhen was judged to have handled the ball in the 18th minute when Atalanta tried to score from a corner.

Atalanta were rewarded a penalty as a result of the incident and Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman calmly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way with a fantastic penalty kick.

Lookman now has five goals in his last six games for Atalanta.

Osimhen was definitely angered by this incident and lead Napoli’s surge forward.

Four minutes after conceding the goal, Osimhen jumped highest to meet a cross from Piotr Zielinski and head the ball into the back of the net to get the much needed equalizer.

The 23-year-old has now scored 6 league goals in his last 4 games and has also increase his tally to 8 goals in 9 appearances, sitting comfortably on the Seria A top scorer chart, despite playing less games than most people.

The Nigerian goal poacher bullied Demiral in the Atalanta’s box before slotting it nicely for Elmas to score the winner in the 35th minute.

In the second half, both teams tried to create chances to score but could not really find the back of the net, with Lookman’s deflected attempt hitting the crossbar in the 54th minute.

Napoli are now sitting confidently on top of the Seria A with a mesmerizing start to the season. The Naples team now lead 2nd Atalanta by 8 points as they surge to win their first Seria A title of the century.
