Former Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has taken to social media to urge the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to promptly pay the long-standing salary and bonus arrears owed to players, coaches, and staff of the Super Falcons.

The NFF has recently been embroiled in a dispute with Super Falcons Coach, Randy Waldrum, over several issues, including the team list for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, preparations, and non-payment of salaries.

Following Nigeria’s thrilling 3-2 victory against co-hosts Australia at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup on Thursday, Wright voiced his concerns on Twitter, calling for the NFF to do the right thing and settle the players’ dues.

In his tweet, he wrote, “Pay them!!!!!! @thenff.”

The Super Falcons are set to face the Republic of Ireland in their final Group B match next week. With a win or draw, they can secure qualification to the knockout stage if Canada prevails against Australia in the other last group game.
