The Taraba State Police Command has announced a successful operation leading to the arrest of a group of suspected armed robbers believed to have been causing terror in certain areas of the state. Abdullahi Usman, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), made this disclosure in a statement provided to the press.

The suspects were apprehended by the diligent operatives of Kofai Police Station, who are attached to the Sunkani Division in Ardo-Kola Local Government Council. The individuals taken into custody include Joseph Desmind, Swaibu Sambu, Danladi Ibrahim, and Douglas John. While Desmind and John come from neighboring Adamawa, Sambu and Ibrahim are natives of Taraba State.

According to the statement, these suspects have been linked to a series of terrorizing armed robberies targeting students and communities in the vicinity of Taraba State University in Jalingo. “The suspects, upon their arrest, have confessed to their involvement in the crimes and are providing valuable information to the police that will aid in the capture of their accomplices, who are currently at large,” explained the PPRO.

Additionally, the police command dispelled rumors circulating about the alleged kidnapping of over a hundred individuals along Zing Road on Saturday night, clarifying that only two persons were abducted.
