Hardship in Nigeria: Tinubu should check why Igbo people are quiet – Yusuf

Professor Usman Yusuf, the former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), has raised concerns over the surprising calm in the South Eastern region amidst Nigeria’s escalating economic challenges.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show program, Yusuf emphasized the urgent need for presidential intervention to address the worsening hardship facing the nation.

Yusuf noted that while there have been agitations against hunger primarily from the South West and Northern parts of the country, the silence in the South East is particularly unexpected.

He urged President to prioritize addressing the silent suffering experienced by residents in the North, stating, “The silence in the North, from the people of the North in spite of the suffering people are going through, is more lethal than people coming out.”

As Ramadan approaches, Yusuf urged immediate action, calling on the President to purchase food supplies to flood the market and alleviate the suffering of the populace.
