BREAKING: Explosion rocks Kebbi General Hospital
Residents of the Bagudo area in Kebbi State were thrown into fear in the early hours of Tuesday following a powerful explosion at the General Hospital.
In response, a combined security force comprising the police, military, and local vigilante groups was swiftly deployed to secure the scene.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Bashir Usman Anisma, disclosed that specialised EOD-CBRN units had been dispatched to the hospital to carry out a detailed evaluation of the incident.
He confirmed that no lives were lost in the explosion. However, a structure within the hospital’s staff quarters sustained damage, and occupants of the affected building were evacuated without injury.
Anisma further stated that the Commissioner of Police had ordered additional tactical reinforcements to the area to ensure calm and prevent any breakdown of law and order, noting that a full-scale investigation was underway.
The police also appealed to residents to remain calm and stay clear of the immediate area to allow security agencies to effectively carry out their operations.
