Adoka United FC wins 2025 Omudu Innocent Inalegwu Annual Football Tournament
Adoka United FC of Adoka, Otukpo LGA of Benue State, has emerged as champions of the 2025 Omudu Innocent Inalegwu Annual Football Tournament, capping a thrilling competition that brought together 16 teams from across Benue State.
The annual tournament, sponsored by philanthropist and financial expert, Omudu Innocent Inalegwu, is designed to promote youth football, uncover local talent and foster community development.
Speaking at the grand finale, Omudu said, “This tournament is not just about winning; it’s about creating opportunities for our youths, encouraging discipline and building a stronger sense of community. I am proud of every team that participated.”
“We started this tournament to ensure our young players have a platform to showcase their talents, gain recognition and aspire to greater heights. To see their passion and determination this year has been truly inspiring. I hope that every participant leaves here motivated to pursue excellence both in football and in their personal lives.”
Adoka United FC took home the grand prize of ₦200,000, while the runners-up received ₦150,000, and the third-place team earned ₦100,000. Each of the 16 participating teams also received an ₦20,000 appearance fee.
In addition to team prizes, individual awards were presented, including Best Goalkeeper, Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Fair Play Team of the Tournament.
Reacting to their victory, Adoka United FC’s captain said, “We are grateful to Omudu Inalegwu for this tournament. It gives young players a platform to showcase their talent, and we are proud to bring the trophy home to Adoka.”
