Gov Alia praises Alochu Foundation, vows to complete Awajir–Oju road

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has commended the Alochu Foundation for its consistent commitment to humanitarian service and community development, while reaffirming his administration’s resolve to complete the ongoing Awajir–Oju Road project.

The Governor gave the commendation on Saturday in Oju during the 20th anniversary celebration of the Alochu Foundation and the inauguration of the Alochu Political Support Group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Alia’s 2027 re-election bid.

Represented by his deputy, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, mni, Governor Alia reiterated his government’s determination to deliver on all campaign promises made to the people of Benue State, particularly in the area of critical infrastructure.

He also disclosed plans to convene a town hall meeting with residents of Oju in the near future to identify additional community-based projects for implementation.

Governor Alia praised the founder of the Alochu Foundation, High Chief Francis Alochu Ikpobu, describing him as a humble and compassionate leader whose philanthropic efforts have continued to positively impact lives within and beyond his immediate community.

He further appreciated Chief Alochu for establishing a political support group for President Tinubu and himself, encouraging him to sustain his contributions toward supporting government initiatives and fostering societal development.

The Och’Idoma, His Royal Majesty Dr. Eliagwu Odogbo, lauded Chief Alochu’s philanthropic initiatives and urged the people of Benue South to embrace unity for the overall development of the zone and the state.

Similarly, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, represented by the Benue State APC Chairman, Dr. Benjamin Omale, commended Chief Alochu for his charitable works and dedication to improving the welfare of his people.

In his welcome address, Chief Francis Alochu said the Alochu Foundation, established in 2004, was created to give back to society. He noted that the Tinubu & Alia 2027 Support Group was formed as a show of appreciation for their leadership and as a strategic move toward securing victory in the 2027 elections.

The event featured empowerment initiatives by the Alochu Foundation, including the presentation of cash gifts to 150 retired ministers of God and the donation of two buses to support the activities of the political support group.

The anniversary celebration was attended by top government officials, including the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Moses Atagher, commissioners, and members of the Benue State House of Assembly.
