BREAKING: FCT Council election results: APC, ADC tie at Supreme Court Staff Quarters in Karu
The chairmanship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) recorded equal votes at a polling unit in the ongoing Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory.
The tie occurred at the Supreme Court Staff Quarters polling unit located in Karu, Abuja, where voters cast 12 votes each for the candidates of both parties.
Announcing the results, the Presiding Officer, Martins Sani, disclosed that the APC candidate, Christopher Maikalangu, secured 12 votes, while the ADC candidate, Moses Paul, also polled 12 votes.
The exercise recorded low voter participation, with only 32 voters casting their ballots out of the 749 registered voters at the polling unit.
According to the results announced, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored four votes, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate secured two votes. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Action Democratic Party (ADP) recorded one vote each.
