Stop using party name, logo, bank accounts – ADC warns David Mark
A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Nafi’u Bala Gombe has warned the National Working Committee (NWC) headed by David Mark to immediately stop using the party’s name, logo and bank accounts.
The group, comprising members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Working Committee, insisted that the Mark-led leadership has no authority to operate in the name of the party.
In a statement signed by Gombe and the BoT Secretary, Rufus Ikanmi, the faction also warned the Mark-led NWC to desist from issuing statements or making public comments on behalf of the party.
The faction threatened legal action if what it described as the “unauthorised use” of the party’s identity continues.
“If Abdullahi wishes to become a member of the ADC, he should follow the appropriate procedure by registering at his political ward in Kwara State,” the statement said.
The Gombe-led group, which claims to be the original leadership of the party, further warned that any continued operation of the party’s bank accounts by members of the alleged coalition would be treated as financial misconduct.
It also issued a notice to deposit money banks and other financial institutions in the country, instructing them to halt all transactions linked to the party’s accounts involving persons it described as unauthorised.
According to the statement, any lending, withdrawal or transfer of funds from the party’s accounts under such circumstances would be regarded as financial crimes and economic sabotage.
The faction maintained that the ADC remains open to all Nigerians but insisted that membership must follow the party’s established registration process.
