Idoma TV names offices after Godwin Obla, Dan Agbese, Mike Awoyinfa

Idoma Voice and TV Ltd, publishers and owners of Idoma Voice and Idoma Television, has honoured three eminent Nigerians by naming key offices within its media outfit after them, in recognition of their contributions to professional excellence, mentorship and the development of young talents.

The honourees are Chief Godwin Obla, SAN, late legendary journalist, Dan Agbese and ace journalist Mike Awoyinfa.

In a statement, the organisation said the gesture reflects its commitment to celebrating individuals who have made lasting impacts in their respective fields and have contributed, directly or indirectly, to the growth of Idoma media and youth development.

Chief Godwin Obla, SAN, was recognised for his consistent encouragement of young talents in Idoma land. The company noted that his support played a significant role in the recent expansion of its operations. As part of the honour, the Idoma TV studio has been named after him.

The late veteran journalist Dan Agbese was honoured for his outstanding legacy in journalism. Described as an “editor of editors,” Agbese was credited with setting a standard of excellence that continues to inspire journalists, particularly those of Idoma origin. As part of the honour, the newsroom has been named after him.

Also honoured is Mike Awoyinfa, widely regarded as a father of tabloid journalism in Nigeria and former Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Newspaper. The company highlighted his mentorship role in shaping the journalism career of the CEO of Idoma TV, noting that his guidance contributed significantly to the organisation’s evolution.

As part of the honour, the boardroom been named after him.

Idoma Voice and TV Ltd said the naming of the offices is not only a tribute to the trio’s achievements but also a strategic move to inspire professionalism, dedication, and excellence among its staff and the wider media community.
