ADC youths demand resignation of David Mark, Aregbesola
Members of the youth wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Taraba State on Thursday staged a peaceful protest at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Jalingo.
The protesters, led by Comrade Maheer Marwana, called for leadership changes within the party and demanded the resignation or removal of the ADC national chairman.
They also urged INEC’s national leadership to formally recognise former Senate President David Mark as party chairman and former Minister of the Interior Rauf Aregbesola as national secretary.
The demonstrators, who marched peacefully, vowed to sustain their agitation until their demands are met, insisting on transparency and internal reforms within the party.
Addressing the protesters, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Taraba State, Mukhtar Umar Gajiram, assured them that their grievances would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities for consideration.
