Manchester United not the same club I left — Pogba

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has opened up on his return to the club, stating that the environment he met was significantly different from what he experienced during his first spell.

Pogba, who rejoined United in 2016 after leaving for Juventus, said he noticed immediate changes in the club’s culture, describing the atmosphere as unfamiliar.

“The energy is different. I said that when I left, it wasn’t like this. I came to Manchester United with a clear idea of the club’s culture, and it was a bit different,” Pogba said.

The World Cup winner also pointed to broader changes within the club, suggesting that even basic aspects of daily life had shifted.
“Even the food, everything inside was different. It was a bit weird,” he added.

Pogba further revealed that his experience raised doubts about his long-term future at Old Trafford at the time.

“I told them I don’t know if I’m going to finish my contract here, basically because I don’t feel like it’s the same. It’s not the same club as when I left,” he stated.

The French midfielder eventually left Manchester United in 2022, returning to Juventus for a second spell.
