BREAKING: PDP, APM alliance emerges as Makinde announces presidential ambition
The Peoples Democratic Party PDP and the Allied Peoples’ Movement APM have strengthened their political collaboration ahead of the 2027 general elections following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The agreement, backed by a faction of the PDP associated with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, was formalised on Thursday as both parties signaled a move toward deeper opposition cooperation.
Seyi Bamidele signed on behalf of the PDP faction, while Oladele Oyadeji represented the APM.
Governor Makinde and APM National Chairman Yusuf Dantalle also appended their signatures to the agreement.
In a related development, Governor Makinde has reportedly declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, a move that has already begun to reshape early political calculations ahead of the polls.
Political observers say the development positions him as a key contender in the emerging presidential race.
