Ex-Lawmaker, Kangiwa steps down from Kebbi North senatorial primary
A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa, has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Kebbi North, scheduled for May 18, 2026.
Kangiwa announced his decision in a letter to the party leadership, explaining that he stepped down in compliance with directives from the APC. He said the move reflects his commitment to party discipline, unity, and respect for constituted authority.
According to him, withdrawing from the race is aimed at fostering cohesion and stability within the party ahead of the elections.
He expressed gratitude to party members, supporters, and his campaign team for their backing during the consultation period leading up to the primary.
Kangiwa reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged to remain actively involved in its affairs.
He also urged his supporters across Kebbi North to stay calm, united, and focused on the party’s collective interest.
