Prof. Tor Iorapuu: Benue govt clears air on ‘appointment’ of new VC for Benue State University

Terver Akase, the Chief Press Secretary to Benue State Governor has reacted to the report of the appointment of Prof. Tor Iorapuu as the new Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi.

Report had emerged on Saturday that Prof Iorapuu was appointed as the new head of the state-owned institution.

However, Akase has claimed that the report is untrue.

Meanwhile, a source within the government has insisted that Prof Iorapuu’s would be officially announced this week.

But Akase said the Visitor is yet to receive the report of the BSU Council on the choice of VC.

He said, “A new Vice Chancellor has not been appointed for Benue State University. The Visitor is yet to receive the report of the BSU Council on the choice of VC Once the process is completed, a new VC will be appointed.”
